Public Parking Regulations

This ordinance #18 is designed to regulate parking on public streets in the City of Nowthen during certain months. 

Article I

The purpose of regulating parking during the prescribed time period is to protect the general health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Nowthen and to facilitate snow removal.

 Section I – It shall be unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle, trailer, mobile home or accessory unit on a public street from the 15th of November to the 1st day of April between the hours of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

 Section II – It shall also be unlawful for any person to park on any city road during any time at which more than two (2) inches of fresh snow has accumulated until such time as the snow removal crews have cleared the roadway. 

 Section III – The Anoka County Sheriff’s Department or other authorized representatives of the city are hereby authorized to remove any offending vehicle from a city road.  Vehicles will be towed and stored at owner’s own expense.  Any person(s) violating any provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of an administrative offense or petty misdemeanor as defined by Minnesota Statute 609.02, Subdivision 4A.
